My fellow readers,

It saddens me to say this, but as of today I will no longer be posting on Paper Heart Chronicles.

A little over a year ago, I started this project as a creative outlet, and never imagined that it could become something so special. Now, I am unable to continue posting due to a lack of space on the server. Nonetheless, seeing as how committed I am to blogging, I have launched a new site, and one that is bound (and equipped!) to last.

I present to you Cutting Edges, my latest creative endeavor. It is a way to start fresh, and I really hope you will all continue to follow me on my new venture into the wonderful world of blogging.

Ah prom, that one time in a teenagers life when everyone dresses up all fancy in gowns, gets their hair done and takes millions of pictures of themselves all dolled up. Unless of course you live on the Upper East Side and attend Constance Billard school for girls (Gossip Girl reference). My special day came right around the corner, and before I knew it I was celebrating the ending of my high school years. What a night! In all honesty, I didn’t have very high expectations for my prom night, which I think made my night even better. I spent the night with some of my closest friends, and we had the best time.

I received my dress from BHLDN, who didn’t disappoint. The stylists were extremely helpful and even sent me fabric and colour samples prior to the final purchase of my dress. My hair was another roller coaster. I was so hesitant to go with a braided crown and flowers, but I risked it and my hairdresser pulled it of. It quickly became my favourite part of the look. The shoes were from Topshop because, of course, I had to add a little bit of edge to my classic, bohemian look.

 

Summer Madness: June 2014 Playlist

Summer has finally arrived, and what a better way to kick off this celebratory time than with a playlist! Specifically catered to the warm, sunny and cool atmosphere that this season brings, this playlist mixes various styles, from techno-pop beats that’ll get your groove on, to casual synths and great melodies perfect for summertime. Enjoy!

Summer Style Inspiration

With this fine summer breeze and these warm, sunny conditions, I thought it would be the perfect time to scroll through Pinterest for some summer style inspiration! My favourite summer trends this season are definitely lovely summer dresses, white dresses especially, pretty much anything white in fact! I’m also loving that loose white blazer, it’s been on my want list for quite some time now! Maxi’s are always a go-to in this weather, as are a cute pair of overalls.

 

Flower Child

In light of the lovely spring weather that has come, I’ve been spending so much more time outside. I am always so fascinated by the beauty of flowers, especially these pretty pink ones! The moment I saw them, I knew I had to style an outfit around them. Voila! What a coincidence that the floral crown matches almost exactly to the actual flowers! I’m pretty much all flowered up, from this shift dress and this crochet kimono both from Brandy Melville. What a perfect way to start the season! Let’s hope the rest of spring and even summer stay as beautiful as this.

Easter With The Family

Yesterday, I spent an afternoon at my aunt and uncle’s house for Easter.  Most of my family came, and I was delighted to see my godfather for the second time on his latest trip back to Montreal. We had a delicious buffet, filled with some traditional Lebanese recipes.

As for the outfit, I was so excited to wear my new floral chiffon pants from Forever 21 that I had just recently purchased. I paired them with a simple black tee, my jean jacket and a short copper chain.

       

 

I absolutely adore this photo! These are all my second cousins, not including the adorable Luke, my godmother’s baby boy. I love these kids so much, they are all wonderful and cheerful boys and girls!

Style Recap: Coachella Weekend One

I thought I’d share with you all a series of some of my favorite looks from the first weekend of Coachella, thanks to Refinery29! You’ll notice a few lovely trends that I’m totally obsessed with at the moment! Kimonos, floral prints, and bright colours are on the top of my list right now!

April 2014: Must-See Artists at Coachella

 

Hope everyone is having a good week! This weekend will be the first of two Coachella weekends, and I’m super excited for both the fashion and of course, the music! I was checking out the setlist, and a lot of the bands and artists are really great! I compiled a list of fairly recent songs from a handful of bands and artists that will be playing at Coachella this weekend and next weekend. What I love about these festivals is that they bring together a wide variety of artists. From dance and electronic to rap and of course alternative, everyone can find something that they love. This playlist is tailored more to my kind of music, in the hopes that everyone can discover some new artists (hopefully), and I’m sure most people will enjoy these songs! Trust me, there are many more as well! Some other artists to check out at Osheaga (or at home) would be The 1975, Drowners, Lana Del Rey, Capital Cities, Arcade Fire, Empire of the Sun, The Naked and Famous, and Rudimental.

Music, film and interactive festival South by Southwest just ended last week, and you know by the end of any festival I’ll have an outfit roundup! From flawy to florals, lace and leather, this Austin scene covers it all. These festival-goers not only have a great taste in music, but fashion to top it all off.

Spring Fashion Inpsiration

Although it doesn’t feel like spring here in Montreal, being below zero degrees celcius with major snow falls, spring has arrived! For some reason, after returning from Ecuador, I feel as though I’m so behind in the latest trends and news! I mean, I was only gone for three weeks… How much could I have missed? Well okay, that’s an understatement, considering that fashion trends change almost every week, and well, the news is always news.

As I was frantically scrolling through Pinterest, Tumblr, Keep and Wanelo, I gained a lot of inspiration for the upcoming season that has now arrived! Some of my favorites are the following, including the oh-so fashionable pant suits, the maxi’s and the mini’s.
